New Favourites from Clinique

Clinique has always been one of those OG favourite brands of mine. I remember in high-school picking up Clinique skincare packs (you know, those 3-step skincare systems), Clinique lipsticks, and I absolutely adored Clinique tinted SPF. Today, I still use and love Clinique products, and recently I expanded my Clinique beauty collection.

A few weeks ago I attended a Clinique event at Shoppers Drug Mart (the Kensington, Burnaby location), with Suzanne and the full Shoppers Drug Mart team. where I got a facial and makeover that totally reignited my love for Clinique skincare and beauty. Isn’t it so weird when you love a brand, then kind of forget it for a while, and then rediscover it and get obsessed all over again?

New Favourites from Clinique

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

Is there anything more annoying then left-over makeup? You know what I mean. You’ve used the makeup wipes and removers, gone in with a cleanser and bam: your eyes are still coated in a thin filmy layer of mascara. Gross, amirite? Well, you won’t have that anymore when you grab the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. This cleansing balm is super thick, and almost oily, in texture and when you apply it to your skin it takes no prisoners: bye-bye foundation, ciao eyeshadow, sayonara mascara. I love it.

The texture itself almost feels like coconut oil – you know when you get a tub of coconut oil and its hardened but if you press into it it’ll melt a bit? Yep, it’s like that. It’s got a slightly cooling feeling to it which I also like. But mostly, I just love how it removes every last bit of makeup from my skin.

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser Mousse

After using the Cleansing Balm, you want to use something on your skin to remove the oiliness from your skin. The Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser Mousse gently removes the oily cleansing balm and leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.

I personally love foaming cleansers in general because, in general, they are more gentle on your skin, and my skin is super sensitive – especially during these cooler months. If you’re looking for a cleanser that’ll clear your skin of any grittiness or dirt without stripping your skin, then the Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser Mousse is an excellent option.

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum

Who doesn’t love a good serum? Serums have been an essential part of my skincare routine for years, and I have to say the Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum ranks in as one of the best I’ve yet to try.

This serum is a light pinky-peach and is a gel-cream texture. The texture makes it feel very hydrating on your skin. I typically take about 3 pumps of this serum and then apply it all over my face/neck area. What I love so much about this serum is that it actually really absorbs into your skin, rather than sitting on-top of it. Within 5-10 minutes you’ll notice your skin just feels silky soft and hydrated.

Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup SPF 15

One of the first face-makeup products I ever bought was from Clinique, and I loved it. I started with the tinted SPF, and a few years later I bought the foundation (you know the one with the doe-foot applicator? What’s that one called again?) and I loved it. So I can high hopes and high expectations when trying out the Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup.

I consider this foundation to be a lightweight coverage, which if you’ve been following my blog for a while then you’ll know – I like. I tend to go for lighter coverages in my daily life because they are more comfortable, they typically wear-off more naturally (since your natural skin is peaking through anyway), and they look more natural on your skin.

This foundation is mainly for those with oily or combination skin so it surprised me that it actually did work so well on my skin. I have dry/combination skin (I get a lot of dryness around my nose) so I was expecting to notice a lot of emphasis on my dryer patches. But, I honestly haven’t found any issue at all. Since it does have a radiant finish to it, I would actually say it works quite well on dry skin types.

Clinique Cheek Pop

I love blush. I truly feel a look is never complete without a little pop of colour on your cheeks. The Clinique Cheek Pop in the shade “Berry Pop” is the most beautiful deep pink shade, and it’s just so perfect for fall and winter. I also love the flower imprint on the blush – it’s almost too cute to use!
